The PowerShot S70 differs from the PowerShot S60 only in its 7 MP sensor and in noise management, sharpness, and overall results. The S70 performs worse in terms of noise at lower sensitivities. The difference disappears at 200 ISO, but this affects sharpness as a consequence.
Although the camera is well-made and rather elegant, its purchase compared to the S60 was not justified. Changing the sensor without adjusting everything else is a poor choice that many manufacturers made to stay in the race for more pixels.
